Following a successful relaunch as a permanent site at the end of 2015, Soho’s favourite Japanese comfort food restaurant, Shackfuyu, will launch brunch on Sunday 12th June.
The first of its kind at the restaurant, the new menu will be a celebration of the best of Shackfuyu, offering a selection of popular classics and brand new dishes, all with a brunch time twist.
For £29, diners will be able to choose two dishes from an inventive selection of small plates and one from a range of hearty and flavoursome larger dishes. Appearing alongside Shack classics including melt-in-the-mouth aubergine with 4 miso and bubu arare and sweet, sticky Korean fried wings, also available on the small plates menu will be breakfast hot stone rice, a morning variation of one of the restaurant’s signature dishes served with bacon, cheese and mushrooms.
Waffles will be given the Shackfuyu treatment with a green tea version to be served with smoked bacon, black sesame butter and maple syrup, for the ultimate Japanese take on the sweet and savoury trend. Omu rice, a rice filled omelette with prawns and pineapple and buttermilk fried chicken bun with kimchee will also showcase Shackfuyu’s yoshoku style of Japanese cuisine.
On the menu of larger dishes guests will find a selection of substantial meat, fish and vegetable-based options, from the USDA beef short rib cooked bo ssam style to the grilled ocean trout fillet with yuzu miso. Chilled chilli ramen, a cold broth perfect for summer, can be ordered with or without beef to make for the perfect choice for vegetarian diners. To round off the brunch menu in true Shackfuyu style, *THAT* insta-famous Kinako French toast with matcha soft serve ice cream will be served for the table.
Included in the set menu price will be unlimited pineapple-infused sake, served from a custom made airline trolley to appear in the restaurant exclusively for brunch. For added bubbles, guests can also opt for unlimited prosecco for an additional £10.
Available every Sunday from 12pm-4.30pm, the menu is set to become the new go-to for brunch lovers across the capital.
